ABOUT the NFAA
Help the NFAA fight hunger in Liberia
The National Food Assistance Agency (NFAA) is an entity of the government of the Republic of Liberia established in the 1970s as a National Food Assistance Unit following a number of Executive Orders to keep it operating in the food assistance sector of the country. Its initial statutory mandate include, but not limited to, serving as a coordinating unit between the government of Liberia and partners on food assistance from foreign donor sources; to assist the various agencies of government in the development of proposals for submission to donors for food assistance; and to coordinate the activities of other National and International Non-governmental Organizations in providing food assistance in Liberia. The passage of its Act in recent times further widens the agency’s scope of operations, giving NFAA additional roles in controlling, supervising and monitoring the distribution and supply of donated food commodities in the country and ensuring the sustainability of the school feeding programs across the country through the Home-Grown Feeding (HGF) approach.
NFAA Mission
To coordinate, implement, and strengthen effective, transparent, and inclusive food assistance programs that address immediate humanitarian needs while building resilient systems and sustainable pathways to long-term food and nutrition security in Liberia.

1. To ensure that all citizens, especially vulnerable groups, have access to adequate and nutritious food.
