Family members of late Gorva Beyan, including his wife, brother, and a sister-in-law, received a package containing the sum of Fifty Thousand Liberian Dollars (LRD $50,000.00) on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at the Fiamah Office of the National Food Assistance Agency. The package represents the agency’s own way of identifying with the family of the late staff in recognition of his immense contributions to NFAA and Liberia at large.
Presenting the purse, DDGA Bob Yeenuah Kartoe described late Beyan as one of several employees that embraced, with visible excitements, policy measures put in place by NFAA Management under the current government. “For him to leave too soon without fully benefiting from those measures, is heartrending,” Hon. Kartoe lamented in sobs.
Receiving the package, Mr. David Beyan, brother of the deceased, thanked the NFAA family for the gesture and said even though his brother is dead and gone, the bond of family relationship being nurtured under the watch of DG Borkai A.M. Sirleaf would live forever. He then referred to the Senior Management Team (SMT) and General Staff of NFAA as true human beings on account of their constant touch with the bereaved family ever since the demise of the staff.
Meanwhile, a lineup of activities leading to the burial of late Beyan has been released. According to the lineup, Thursday – October 30, 2025 – will be the Silent Wake-Keeping from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the home of the deceased in Police Academy Community. Removal of the mortal remains is slated for 7:45 am at- the Alfred Butler funeral parlour, after which all roads would lead to Zorzor, Lofa County where Beyan will be laid to rest.
Gorvai Beyan, Senior Inspector of the agency, passed away late evening on Thursday, October 23, 2025. At age 47, he had worked as civil servant for 14 years, initially serving NFAA as Food Monitor and later excelling to the post of Senior Inspector before his demise.
By directive of DG Sirleaf, all NFAA staff members are encouraged to form part of those activities.
